| Thank you for visiting Twin-Dad. We respect your privacy, so we have made these commitments to you. 1. Kids First Twin-Dad complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). While some items that we sell are for or about children, we do not market to kids and we do not knowingly collect any information from or about children under age thirteen. For more information about protecting kids online, please visit the FTC's KidzPrivacy web site. 2. Your Personal Information Stays Here Your information is never sold, rented, leased, traded, swapped, marketed, exchanged, bartered, distributed or disclosed in any other way. We don't like to receive junk mail, and know you don't either. All messages become the property of twin-dad.com. (Adapted with thanks from the Wordsmith privacy policy.) 3. No Adware, Chat, Cookies, Instant Messages, Spyware or Web Bugs We do not use any kinds of cookies, web bugs, adware, spyware or any other means to track your visits to twin-dad.com, eBay, or in any of our email messages. Twin-Dad does not use any instant messaging (IM) or chat programs. Until these technologies have matured, we believe they are inherently insecure. Since we do not use IM or chat sessions, we could not obtain any information about you even if we wanted to, which we don't. 4. Email Receipts and Web Site Logs If we send you an email we may request an electronic 'return receipt' to tell us that you have read it. These receipts are only available to a strictly limited number of Twin-Dad employees with password-protected access to our email system. These email receipts helps us monitor and improve our customer service and readership estimates for our online catalog, for example. All email programs that we are aware of are configured to either ignore receipt requests or to let the user choose whether or not to send any receipt. Our web site host provides us with electronic activity logs to help us manage our site. These logs are only available to a strictly limited number of Twin-Dad employees with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)-encrypted and password-protected access to the gateway that Hostgator provides to us. These logs include such things as the date, time, IP address and domain name of each 'hit' (visit) to twin-dad.com, a description of any errors on our web pages, and the date and time that we send and receive email messages. No personally identifiable information is included in these logs. Twin-Dad never seeks to obtain any personally identifiable information from them either. 6. The Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email Pledge Twin-Dad has taken the CAUCE organizational member pledge - not to send spam to anyone, not to knowingly do business with any spammer, and to do everything we can to keep our hardware from being used to send or propagate spam. 7. Other Ways to Reduce Spam and Phishing A great introduction to "everything you didn't want to have to know about spam" is at the SpamLinks home page. You can also see how your government is addressing this issue by visiting SpamLaws. Legislation helps, but it is far from the entire solution. Internet users ("netizens") can also help by taking steps to reduce spam, phishing and other email problems. Twin-Dad supports the efforts of the Spam Recycling Center, Project Honey Pot, SpamCop, BlueSecurity and others. We encourage you to do whatever you can to to fight spam and encourage responsible email use. Thanks again for visiting Twin-Dad. We respect your privacy. |
